TOPIC: The best way to teach—whether as an educator, employer, or parent—is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

This topic raises an important issue of whether giving feedback to a student’s wrongdoing in a class or employee’s less quality work would help them learn better. A teacher’s expectation from her students to sit still while she is lecturing might not always met because of various reasons including the lack of experience of sitting still that students have. It is true that first grade students are having many problems with adjusting to behave in a classroom more than second grades. The experience also crucial to meet the expectations of an employer. Although colleges teach the content of a work, working class would approve that there are so many other qualities expected from an employee that cannot be taught in a classroom but rather employees learn by experiencing them. It is reasonable that an employee with no experience will not be able to satisfy every expectations of his employer in his first year at the work.

While every teacher or employer agree that the less experienced one will take time to be their best, they can help by sharing their wisdom with a right manner. This means that a teacher should get to warn her student when he won’t stop playing with his classmates while she is lecturing. However, she should not expect that a 8 year old child will learn from this warning right away. Instead, the best way to teach her student to behave in a classroom is to observe the development is her student’s behavior and award it which would encourage her student to make more effort to be better next time to get awarded again. Although a first year employee would not have adjusting problems in a workplace as a first year student does in a classroom we should not overlook the fact workplaces can pose challenges for a first year employee. It is likely that firsts of his duties will not reflect his best potential and a wise employer would acknowledge this reality. Similarly, he should help his employers by sharing his knowledge in a constructive way and award the development in the quality of their work.

While it can be tempting to have high expectations or ask for rapid developments from a student or an employee, the best way to teach a student or an employee is to award their efforts and improvements as well as showing them the way to do it.
